Fourth people infected from COVID-19 in Nepal.
The total number of live covid-19 infected cases three including,a 34-year-old man who return from the UAE.The Ministry of Health and Population confirmed,fourth person has tested positive of COVID-19.
The spokesperson for the health ministry Dr Bikash Devkota said that a 34-year-old man who return from the United Arab Emirates(UAE) has been tested positive for coronavirus(COVID-19).The first live case of infection was reported in a 19-year-old student who travelled from France to kathmandu via Qatar.
This takes the number of the infection live case to three since Sunday.
The National Public Health Laboratory of Nepal under the Department of Health Services tested the specimens of the patient of infection for coronavirus and confirmed a positive result on Friday.
Devkota told on the Post, the coronavirus infected patient are currently receiving treatment at the Seti Provincial Hospital in Dhangadhi of Sudurpaschim Province.We are working to find the details of the patients who are infection for coronavirus, including the number of passengers of the flight,he came to Nepal.After he suffered from high fever, dry cough and chest pain,the patient had gone to the hospital on march 24.
The hospital could not send his specimens nasal, throat ,swabs and his details to the National Public Health Laboratory.In the Nepal, the only one lab is prensent for tests the coronavirus(COVID-19), due to this cause the goverment of nepal immediately enforched a lockdown starting same morning on march 24. And suspending bus and air services.
This is the first case of positive covid-19 infection reported fron outside of the valley. Devkota said that this shows patients of covid-19 are outside the velley as well.And he would like to request all to stay at home for their and others' safety.However,the lockdown also means that hospitals outside the Valley will face difficulties while sending specimens of those who are suspected to have been carrying the virus(covid-19).
Devkota also request human rights organizations, security agencies, civil society members and the general public to abide by the lockdown order.
Nepal has reported four cases infection of covid-19, with the first infection case indentified at the end of January.The third infection patient of coronavirus who tested positive had travelled to Kathmandu from Sharjah on March 19.
COIVD-19:Prevention
To prevent infection and to slow transmission of coronavirus (COVID-19), do the following:
- Wash your hands regularly with soap and water, sanitizer or clean them with alcohol-based hand rub.
- Maintain at least 1.7 meter distance between you and people coughing or sneezing.
- Avoid touching your face.
- Cover your mouth and nose when coughing or sneezing with handkerchief or a flexed elbow. Stay home if you feel unwell.
- You Most stop smoking and other activities that weaken the lungs.
- The big importance is practice distancing by avoiding unnecessary travel and staying away from large groups of people .
COVID-19: Symptoms
The coronavirus (COVID-19) affects different people in different ways. coronavirus (COVID-19) disease is a respiratory disease and most infected people will develop mild to moderate symptoms and recover without requiring special treatment.
People who over 60 years old and have underlying medical conditions have a higher risk of developing severe disease and death
Common symptoms include:
- shortness of breath
- aches and pains
- sore throat
- and very few people will report nausea, diarrhea or a runny nose..
People with mild symptoms who are otherwise healthy should contact their medical provider, should self-isolate. And should contact with a COVID-19 information line for advice on testing and referral.People with cough ,fever or difficulty breathing should call their doctor and seek medical attention.
