Ramadan is a fasting festival for a month.
According to the Islamic calendar, the ninth month of this
calendar is Ramadan. This month worldwide the Muslims do fasting, prayer,
reflection, and community.
Ramadan is the Arabic word that means extreme dryness and
intolerable heat. This month starts from the new moon appears and after the
whole months again the new moon appears this is indicating the Ramadan comes to
end. The next day celebrates Eid-Ul-Fitr. Ramadan is also called Ramzan in
Asian counties
In this year 2020 Ramadan starts from April 24 and will end
on May 23 in the gulf country like Qatar, Saudi Arabia. But in Asian countries
like Nepal, India, China it starts from April 25 and will end on May 24. It
depends on the different time zone of the different counties.
Importance of Ramadan.
During the Ramadan, Muslims are communal prayer, charity,
does fasting, and reading the Holy Quran. According to the holy Quran, fasting
is one of the five main activities of Islam. The other activities are daily
prayer, charity, faith, and goes for the Hajj in Mecca.
Importance of Fasting during Ramadan.
After the Fajr Azan, Muslims stop eats and drink until
Maghrib Azan. About 15 to 16 hours times gap does Fajr Azan to Maghrib Azan.
Fajr Azan happens when 2-3 hours before the sunrise and the Maghrib Azan
happens when sunset. Muslims do not eat and drink, during the course of the
day. All Muslims refrain themselves from lying, fighting, sinful act, such as
false speech, insulting, cursing, and bad habit.
Before the Fajr Azan, They take the meal which is known as
Suhoor and after the Maghrib, they take a meal which is known as Iftar. Fajr
Azan is also indicated the suhoor stop time and Maghrib Azan indicates for Iftar
time.
Type of prayer and their Azan
1. The Fajr.
The Fajr Azan is given 2-3 hours before the sunrise, it is
between about 3 am to 4 am. After this Azan, Fajr prayer performs daily by
practicing Muslims. Fajr is the Arabic word and its mean is dawn. The Fajr
prayer is the first prayer of the five prayers performs daily by Muslims.
2. The Johor or Zuhr
The Johor Azan is given after the Sun reaches its zenith. It
is from about 1 pm to 2 pm. After this Azan, Johor prayer performs daily by
practicing Muslims. Johor is the Arabic word and it's meaning is afternoon
prayer. The Johor prayer is the fourth prayer of the five prayers performs
daily by Muslims.
3.The Ashar or Asr.
The Asr Azan is given between about 3 pm to 5 pm. After this
Azan, Asr prayer performs daily by practicing Muslims. Asr is the Arabic word
and it's meaning is evening prayer. The Asr prayer is the third prayer of the
five prayers performs daily by Muslims.
4.The Maghrib
The Maghrib Azan is given on sunset. After this Azan,
Maghrib prayer performs daily by practicing Muslims, in another word, this
prayer just after sunset. Maghrib is the Arabic word and it's meaning is sunset
prayer(dusk prayer). The Maghrib prayer is the fifth prayer of the five prayers
performs daily by Muslims.
5.The Isha.
The Isha Azan is given in the night-time about between 7 pm
to 8 pm. After this Azan, Isha prayer performs daily by practicing Muslims.
Isha is the Arabic word and it's meaning is the night prayer. The Isha prayer
is the second prayer of the five prayers performs daily by Muslims.
6.The Jummah
Jummah prayer is prayer on Friday instead of Zuhr prayer. Jummah
is the Arabic word and it's meaning is Friday prayer. This prayer is prayed in
mass.
7. Eid-Ul-Fitr or Eid al-Fitr.
Eid al-Fitr is also called the festival of breaking the
Fast. This festival celebrates at the end of the month-long dawn-to-sunset
fasting of Ramadan. At the Eid al-Fitr day, all Muslims are prayer in the
community generally performed in an open field or large hall.
8. Eid al-Adha or Eid Qurban.
Eid al-Adha is also called the festival of Sacrifice. This
festival is second of two Islamic festivals that are celebrated worldwide each
year by the Muslim community. At the Eid al-Adha day, all Muslims are prayer in
the community generally performed in an open field or large hall.
